Kimberley Road 49-51

Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong  |  2020

The project is for the design of a “Ginza” type vertical retail tower in famous commercial hub of Tsim Sha Shui. The site being an infill site offers the opportunity to link Kimberly Road to Knustsford Terrace, a popular bar street, at the rear of the site. After studying the site, the proportions of the form and set back requirements, we developed a formal strategy of assemblage for the façade. The building is expressed as a series of assembled boxes that stack and set back up the tower giving energy and movement to the façade while at the same time expressing the individuality of the retail and F&B tenants. The setbacks creates terraces for each tenant unit allowing alfresco dinning and connection to the surrounding cityscape.
