ARK being shortlisted in the World Architecture Festival 2021

Finalist in Shopping - Completed Building Category

We are excited to announce that our project, The Iceberg on 68 Kimberley Road, Hong Kong has been shortlisted under the 2021 Shopping - Completed Building Category in World Architecture Festival. The list of finalists is decided by a panel of more than 148 international architects and experts from more than 68 countries. It marks ARK’s second time to share insights with global peers at this honorable event, 4 years after our project V Point was shortlisted in the Retail Architecture category of WAF 2017.

The Iceberg is a “Ginza” type vertical retail tower situated in the commercial district of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. By taking inspiration from the form of an Iceberg, a ‘found object’, the design seeks to shape an iconic shopping and dining landmark destination that stands out from surrounding dated concrete buildings in the infill site. The side set back of pedestrian link, ‘cave-like’ entrance connected to the lobby and aurora-colored night lighting together accentuate the aesthetic façade, defining the three dimensionality of form. Overall, it creates a unique retail experience for customers, while at the same time responds to the building codes, enhancing the site and urban milieu.

The Iceberg also received the Asia Pacific Property Five Stars Award in 2019 and Silver Award for Best Shopping & Retail Category at the A&D Awards in 2020.
